Once an agreed scope of work and access arrangements have been finalised our Fire Door Inspector will conduct a comprehensive non-destructive and non-intrusive Fire Door Inspection and deliver a detailed report on the condition of the entire door set, which includes photographic evidence for ease of recognition.
What is included?
Visual inspection of each element of your Fire Resisting Doorsets including:
Documentation- A complete review of your Fire Certification (Golden Thread requirement)
Fire resisting status of all fire door hardware including relevant markings to correctly identify fire rating of the doorset
Review of operational elements: Hinges, latches/locks, closures, hold open devices, selectors and handles
Review of all fire door signage
Review of all vision panels and glazing to ensure suitability and etching to prove designed standard.
Review of all cold smoke seals and intumescent strips
Review of all fire door frames, door leafs and gaps between leaf and frame, including the threshold
Review of all fire resisting qualities of the door set including the thickness in case of no certification being available.
Review of all materials used in the installation of the doorset
The Fire Door Inspection report produced, will outline the existing status of the fire door sets, and where necessary recommend improvements that should be considered to make your building compliant with statutory requirements and best practice guidance.
A clear Action Plan which will give exact locations of any defect, photographic evidence and suggested remedial actions made by way of reference to the BM TRADA Accepted Repair Techniques and other third party accredited schemes such as BWF, BRE, and ASFP for example.
